Finally, VinFast, the Vietnamese EV maker, has entered India! People often ask me why I only review foreign cars, so here it is—a look at the incredible VinFast VF7 that just launched in India. I have to admit, this car has personally impressed me a lot, and I might even consider buying it. Want to know why? Let’s dive in.
Vinfast VF7 and VF6: Siblings, But Not the Same

VinFast has brought two models to India: the VF7 and the VF6. The biggest difference between them is their size. The VF6 is a compact 5-seater SUV, but the VF7 is a significantly larger and more powerful vehicle. It also seats 5, but its larger dimensions give it a more massive presence on the road.
VinFast is not a new company. It was founded in 2017 and is already selling its vehicles in major markets like the U.S., Europe, and Asia. In India, the company chose to bring two mid-range models instead of its most expensive flagship car. This shows they understand the fierce competition in the Indian market.
Design and Looks: Where Style Meets Performance

The VF7’s design is truly remarkable. At first glance, the car looks big, sporty, and tech-loaded. Its DRLs (Daytime Running Lights) are not in a wing shape but in VinFast’s signature ‘V’ shape, representing the brand name. These V-shaped DRLs are present on both the front and back of the car.
Up front, you get projector LED headlamps, but no fog lamps. To add to its sporty appeal, the car features silver elements. The car also features ADAS Level 2, which uses radar and cameras to assist the driver in multiple ways.
From the side, its immense size is evident. The wheelbase measures approximately 2.8 meters, while the car’s height is 1.6 meters and its width is 1.8 meters. It comes with stylish 19-inch alloy wheels that feature aero inserts. Both the front and rear have disc brakes. The car’s red and black colour combination looks incredibly stylish. The flush door handles add to the premium design. The ORVMs include integrated turn indicators and a camera underneath for the 360-degree parking view.
Tech-Loaded Interior: A Tesla-Like Feel
Stepping inside the VF7 gives you a feeling of luxury. The dual-tone interior (black and brown) is very appealing.
The car’s most unique feature is its single screen, similar to what you find in a Tesla. This screen integrates both the infotainment system and the instrument cluster. Here, you can view your range, battery status, and driving mode. also offers a Sport mode.
The car is packed with technology. It includes a wireless charger, two USB ports, and a 90W fast-charging Type-C port. The ADAS Level 2 functions, such as Lane Assist, Emergency Braking, and Blind Spot Detection, can all be controlled through this screen. Additionally, there’s a Driver Monitoring System that alerts you if it detects that you are drowsy.

Safety and Features: Safety First
The VF7 doesn’t compromise on safety. It comes with 6 airbags, ABS, EBD, and ESC as standard safety features.
The rear seats offer plenty of space, with headrests for all three passengers. There’s a centre armrest with two cup holders.
Battery and Performance: A Powerful Beast
The VinFast VF7 is equipped with a 75 kWh battery that provides a range of approximately 480 km. With a DC charger, it can be charged from 10% to 70% in just 35-40 minutes. At home, using a 7.2 kW charger, a full charge will take 7-8 hours.
- Single Motor (201 PS): Offers 201 horsepower and 310 Nm of torque.
- Dual Motor (354 PS): Delivers 354 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque. This version can go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.8 seconds.
The company has not officially announced the price yet, but it’s expected to be 20.89 – 25.49 Lakh
Overall, the VinFast VF7 looks like a very promising and powerful product. As soon as I get a chance to drive it, I’ll bring you a full review.
For now, based on its looks and features, I would give this car a solid 9 out of 10! It’s truly impressive.
